Association Partnerships
Delmar, Cengage Learning has formed successful partnerships with some of the
leading associations in the construction industry. Among these are the
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Joint Apprenticeship
Training Committee (NJATC), International Code Council (ICC), PHCC Educational Foundation Plumbing Apprentice & Journeyman Training Committee (PHCC Educational Foundation), Home Builders Institute (HBI),
Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES),
and Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA).
These partnerships range from simple distribution agreements to full-service
development and publication of training materials.
Here is a closer look at the range of our capabilities:
- Distribution Arrangements (NFPA)
- We purchase books from the NFPA, market to all channels, fill orders,
and handle customer service. The NFPA benefits from revenue generated
from the sale to us and we benefit by having desirable products to sell
via our multi-channel sales capability.
- Blended Distribution and Co-Publishing (ICC)
- Here we add to the partnership by developing and
publishing co-branded products. The ICC develops manuscripts and
receives royalties and we publish and receive revenue from sales.
We distribute a full line of ICC products.
- Full Service Development and Publication of Training
Materials (HBI, NJATC, ICC, PHCC, RSES, ACCA)
- We work with associations to assess training needs and plan
curriculum and will develop products to meet those needs. The products are
then reviewed and approved by the associations before being published,
marketed, and distributed by Delmar. Terms can vary depending on
responsibilities of the partners but associations can benefit
from receiving royalties, member discounts, access to excellent
training materials, and the opportunity to use resources elsewhere
that would otherwise be committed to publishing. We can then sell the
products back to your organization’s chapters and members as well as
other markets which have similar training needs.
We welcome the opportunity to meet with other construction related associations to
discuss information, training, reference, and publishing needs where our
capabilities can provide the solution.
